About Me
My least favourite part - making selections from all the category lists has already put me in a box! What can I say? I'm a wonderful cook, a great friend, fiercely (but not stupidly) loyal to those I love. If birth order matters, I'm the youngest of 5. I keep pretty kosher and am observant but am far from an inveterate rule follower.
I read a LOT - always murder mysteries (think British police procedural, in general - Peter Robinson, Ian Rankin, et al), always theology, lately Jewish history. There are those who would say that I have too many bookshelves, but I'm not at all sure that's possible. Love reading newspapers and catch a lot online - am interesting in what responders to the mainstream have to say.
I really enjoy live theatre and music and wish I did more of it, but it's not nearly as much fun on your own as it is with someone else! I go to a lot of movies, some mainstream, some not, and have a great capacity to be entertained by someone else's work.
Fun for me could be any number of things - having people over for dinner and sitting around the table for hours afterwards just talking and laughing; long drives on summer afternoons; checking out the galleries in town; sitting around playing Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit.
Have been divorced much longer than the life of the marriage , and have long since divested myself of any baggage I carried about that. Things I miss about marriage - waking up beside someone; bouncing ideas off a partner; spoiling each other; really dumb inside jokes that NOBODY else could get; charming and being charmed...
Hates - only one. Housework. Can't stand it. I DO it, but I don't LIKE it! I just like the finished effect.
I enjoy travelling but like it best when I travel with someone else. It's nice to share the experience. Last 'big' trip was to Israel and can't wait to go back. In Canada, I prefer Montreal, though I don't know it that well. Across the border, New York's a lot of fun.
And if there's more you want to know, you'll just have to ask me!
