About Me
I've written professionally since my early twenties, first on newspapers, then for national magazines, principally LOOK, on whose staff I served for twelve years. I'm the author, co-author or ghostwriter of 21 books, and have just finished a new novel, as well as a new screenplay. In recent months, exciting possibilities have arisen in the theatre. I was married for 49 years to my college sweetheart, who died four years ago. The cliches are true: time does heal and life does go on, and so I am hoping to develop a new and deep relationship. I'm physically active, either working out or hiking or playing a sport almost every day -- I'm a reasonably decent golfer and skier -- and remain lean and strong and, I hope, youthful. I'm told that I don't look anywhere near my age, but we all want to believe that, don't we? I will undoubtedly write until I drop, not because I need to but because I love to. I enjoy travel, especially if it's purposeful: to London on a theater tour, for example, or to Paris to see my son and his family, or to Chile on a magazine assignment, or to almost anywhere to play golf or ski.
