About Me
I am a 51-year old educator/performer (how many women do you know are so blatantly shameless about telling their age?), but my high school students usually guess my age to be in the mid-thirties. The reason for that is that the child in me rings through loud and clear (it is a common sight to catch me rolling around on the floor with my kids during my Improvisational Comedy class)! Besides teaching Improv, I teach Speech and am Director of Theatre at my school. Once a full-time professional performer, I still love to do stage work when I can. I particularly love doing studio work (voiceover work for radio and television), and am currently the voice for four toys on the market. I'd actually love to do voiceover for animation "when I grow up."
I love to make people laugh. It is a passion of mine, one I inherited from my greatest teacher of comedy, my father. He truly had a gift. On the flip side, I love intimate, quiet conversation, speculating about the mysteries and purpose of life and exploring who we are as human beings. I consider myself to be quite spiritual, and although I am not ultra-religious, I am very connected to my Jewishness.
As you can tell by my headline, I am a passionate dog lover, and sincerely believe them to be higher on the food chain than we are. There is a reason why "DOG" spelled backwards is "G-D" (how many people do you know are able to claim unconditional love as their primary asset?). My dogs are my "canine kids" and are both rescues. I try to save canine lives whenever I can.
I am very sensual and an avid snuggler (it's one of my talents). I am passionate about everything I do whether it is communicating, teaching, performing, experiencing new adventures or spending private time with my partner. I am an extremely physically demonstrative human being and need that same kind of energy returned in kind.
So -- in other words, what you can expect from me is compassion, as well as passion, honesty, loyalty, spontaneity, understanding, communication, a willingness to accept you -- flaws and all -- and, finally, my heart.
