About Me
Life has been full of surprises, twists and turns. I grew up mostly in the Bay Area, graduating from El Cerrito High school. It was during the hayday of People's Park and peace demonstrations. I thought I had all of the answers...You know the drill... "I was so much older then; I am younger than that now." I traveled through Europe and spent 5 incredible years in Israel as a young adult, then returned home to the states. I have lived in some of the greatest cities in the world, including New York, San Francisco and Jerusalem, but somehow I landed here in the raisin capital. I think back to my favorite memories and it's the smells that linger; the fresh smell of the ocean, the scent of Manzanita as you climb into the mountains, the smell of Sage on the desert, the sweet smell of my baby's head as my lips would fall on it. I love art and I enjoy reading literature and writing poetry. I also have a great love of music. My dad, now departed, was a musician. He didn't have much to leave in the way of material things but he left me the greatest gift of all...the gift of music. I can appreciate most any genre, especially Jazz, Folk and Classical, but also Classic Rock, New Rock and R&B. I live in Fresno and have four grown daughters with grandchildren in San Jose; thus I frequent the Bay Area regularly. I own my home here but am not glued here. I still work and I love what I do. I work in a federally funded program assisting young adults with employment and training. I am not too concerned with level of observance but hope to at least meet someone who is comfortable sitting at the seder table! Lots of cowboys and motorcycles in Fresno. Hard to relate. So very open to meeting a special someone a bit of a distance away. I don't feel lost or incomplete being alone but it just isn't as much fun :-)
