At the age of 37, having forged a career in business and media, I am realistic about my strengths and focused in my desires. My interest in the field of broadcast communications propelled me into a pertinent course of study, academically related experience as a Program Producer, and real-world positions as Disc Jockey and Promotions and Business Developmental Associate. While the obligation to assist in the operation and eventual divestiture of a family business intervened and, at times, overlapped my career in radio, it also provided me with broader insight concerning the management and marketing of a business enterprise. As an Inventory Analyst, I supported cost-effective purchasing of electrical supplies through analysis of stock against current, historical, and projected sales statistics. Subsequent to attaining my undergraduate degree, my duties progressed to encompass those of Account Executive, Public Relations Specialist, and ultimately, Coordinator of Marketing and Special Projects. As such, I developed and capitalized upon opportunities to improve market awareness of the company's product offerings and increase its sales volume, endeavors in which I was consistently successful.
Following my exhaustive contribution to efforts to optimize valuation, negotiate contractual provisions, and dispose of my father's business in 2002, I returned to radio. Accountable for marketing and sales, I built relationships critical to revenue growth and organizational image, expanding market penetration for stations in the metropolitan New York and New Jersey markets. As Community Service Coordinator, I functioned as liaison in the acquisition and delivery of information relevant to target audiences. My most recent position has taken me away from broadcasting and into the legal realm through acquisition and management of client accounts for New Jersey Lawyer, a publication owned by the New Jersey State Bar Association. Throughout my career, the establishment of new client relations and maintenance of business with existing accounts has demanded I that apply highly effective presentation, negotiating, and closing techniques as well as the ability to resolve problems in a manner that balances client satisfaction with adherence to company policy.
Interestingly, the highly developed communicative skills that I have brought to bear in business, radio, and the publishing arena have served me well in my long-term interest in art, particularly comic book art, which represents worlds unrestricted by the human condition. As an Advocate and Agent for John Watson, who has designed and illustrated covers for comic books produced by industry leaders Marvel Comics Group and DC Comics, and Irwin Hasen, the creator of “Dondi,” a comic strip in syndication for 31 years, I have negotiated and drafted contractual agreements as well as completed and filed copyright forms to ensure the protection of their work. I have also organized creative and logistical aspects of comic book conventions and authored articles that have appeared in specialty publications. My expertise has resulted in recognition from Sotheby's, the prominent auction house, for my contributions to the exhibition and auction of "Comic Books and Comic Art". Knowledgeable in this art form, I have been cited as an expert by The Courier News and The Sunday Greenwich Times, among other news publications.
