About Me
My name is Evan I am 23 years old, and I was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I am a practicing Jew, although I do not go to synagouge as often as I used to. I attended college at Loyola University New Orleans, from 2002-2006. While attending I was the first jewish member of the oldest catholic fraternity in the south, which I found hilarious. I later became president, and helped coordinate efforts with other local colleges to send work crews to repair the damage after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
I enjoy cinema, and I mean cinema, not crap. my favorite directors are Martin Scorcese, Francois Truffaut, Akira Kurosawa, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, and Terry Gilliam. I also enjoy reading novels, and interesting biographies. I just finished "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palanhiuk(spelling?), and Bruce Cambell's autobiography "If Chins Could Kill". Currently I am re-reading "Catch-22" which is probably, in my opinion, the best book ever written.
As for music, I like mainly punk rock from the 80's and 90's, and some of the newer stuff that is out now. Mainly Social Distortion, Rancid, NOFX, Bad Religion, and similar bands. Also I like a lot of ska both 2nd and 3rd wave like the Pie Tasters, The Specials, Less Than Jake, and Catch-22. Lately I also have been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash and early rock stuff like Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and old elvis , this was mainly inspired by the movie "Walk the Line".
As for my personality, I guess most people would describe me as funny, and sarcastic. I am generally laid back, and like to have interesting conversations with people. In a situation where everyone is stressing out, I'm always the one telling people to relax. I do have a tendency to get annoyed, but only with ignorant, and/or stupid people, so if you are one of those, you're best off not coming within 5,000 feet of me.
I currently work at the South Hills Jewish Community Center of greater Pittsburgh, where i am the assistant of the children's programming department. I really like working with kids, they make me laugh on a daily basis because they say and do exactly what they feel like, without the inconvenience of social barriers. If you ever want the honest truth about something, ask a five year old.
I guess that about sums it up, I'm not really good at desrcibing myself in essay form, so the best way to get to know me is just to talk to me.
