Beneath the shell of a pragmatist beats the heart of an adventurer, a humorist, at times a visionary , but, by any measure, one who views the world through the prism of his spirituality.

Eight years ago Judiasm beckoned me. I approached with the intent of absorbing its wisdom; instead it absorbed me. It inculcated in me the notion that the greatest act of wisdom is to seek more of it, an idea made manifest by my participation in Torah learning, discussion, and a commitment to its values.

But latent within me has always been the belief that the path life is too wondrous to be walked alone. I waited long and (almost) patiently for my beshert; only someone exceptional will have made the wait worthwhile.

I believe that the commonality of particular interests, while important, is nevertheless subordinate to the commonality of values. I'm hoping to connect with someone equally content to spend a quiet evening at home than to spend it in the company of friends or a night on the town.

You should anticipate the Sabbath and the festivals, and should enjoy having guests at the table and being a guest at the table of others.

And if you make a mean bowl of chicken soup, that would be a bonus of inestimable value.
