About Me
Fun, laughter, appreciation of nature and this life are what motivate me and they are linked to my spiritual beliefs. Though I was raised Jewish, and think of myself as culturally Jewish, I attend a center that includes all faiths. However, Jewish music and humor are high on my list of favorites. People describe me as kind, outgoing and witty. I'm far from perfect and am a little lazy about getting things done. However, I've spent a lot of time working through my past, understanding myself and my motivations, so I’m ready for a happy and healthy relationship. Among my passions is National Public Radio, especially, "A Prairie Home Companion." Cats are my favorite animal, but I am passionate about all animals. Currently, I only have a budgie, but would like to have a cat. A dog would be OK too. If I could be any place, it would be in the woods, though I also love the seashore. Dancing is a favorite pastime, especially swing, lindy hop, waltz and contra. My favorite music is vintage jazz and swing; Klezmer and folk are a close second, as well as classical. I like to go bicycling and cross country skiing and walking in small towns. I work out regularly and do yoga. Astronomy also fascinates me and I like to go to group observations. I carry my binoculars in my car so I can get out and look at the skies wherever I am. I retired from my job with the Arlington, VA Public Schools almost a year ago. During this time, I've started an image consulting business from my home and am affiliated with a national company. My passion is color analysis. Also, I love, love travel and am fascinated by different environments. Someday I would like to travel throughout the world. Another interest is in Toastmasters, where I've learned to enjoy public speaking. My dream is to live in the country or a small town, where I can see trees and feel the clean air and experience the quiet. And you?
