I am a simple man. As I have gotten older, G-d has become more important to me and my values have been made more clear. Home, family, and service are important to me. I'm crazy about my kids--a twelve year-old daughter and a four year-old son. I am fortunate to teach in two communities where I feel appreciated. My high school students and their parents treat me well. I especially love teaching at our synagogue religious school.

My hobbies are oriented to my kids. Flagstaff is very bicycle-friendly. It's pretty easy to ride around town with my son in a trailer. Sometimes I am able to go weeks at a time without using a vehicle. I also like to cut wood, grow vegetables, and work on my home. I especially like being able to show my daughter how to use tools and build things. My son is so mechanical-minded that he'll be teaching me within a few years.

My marriage lasted twelve years but we never really bonded. We stayed together because we believed that we should. We split up late in 2003 and have had few harsh words since then. It is very important to me to provide for my former wife well. That hasn't been difficult--we each own a home now.

My marriage was pretty disheartening but I believe in marriage. I will be much more patient this time, however.

I need to find a woman with whom I can communicate well. I'm hoping that she has a strong will and a good enough sense of humor to tolerate an honest, silly, devoted man. We need to share values on important issues and be able to figure out what is important to us. As I get older, Shabbat sustains me more and more. So I need to be with someone who is willing to observe Shabbat to some extent.
