About Me
Talking about myself goes against everything that I have learned over the course of my life because my mentors have taught me to always remain humble. Success requires an open mind which is why I listen to people and only interject my opinion when asked. Five and a half months ago I had humbling experiences in my professional and personal lives — two weeks before my 25th birthday. I thought that I had everything figured out, but realized that I was just beginning to learn and challenged myself to re-evaluate how I interact with the people in my life. While working on the world’s perception of me, I had to change my focus to how I saw myself. I searched for answers from sonorous poets and my favorite pictures and words. The true answer came from the unlikeliest of sources — a “vanity card” written by sitcom producer Chuck Lorre. Although it has been tough and unfamiliar, I learned a tremendous amount about myself and have grown from my adversity. I learned that my open-mindedness about the world gives me a great perspective, but my lack of trust limits how close I get to others.I learned that the full-spectrum of possibilities in the world intrigues me, and I don’t limit myself with the pre-conceived notion of how things should work.I learned how to use my vision to identify what is missing from a situation, and use my creativity to fill in the gaps.I learned that I understand the details, but see the larger picture and refuse to get caught up in specifics. This leads me to be proactive and I do not wait for opportunities to come to me.I learned that engaging with others plays an important role in my interaction with the world, and I learn the most about myself when I am in social situations. I understand complex situations, and refuse to hastily judge others.I have grown a lot, and am now looking for that special person to take me to the next level -- cheesy, but true.
