About Me
First and foremost, I enjoy playing the piano and playing chamber music with other musicians. Attending concerts, museums, theatre, art galleries, opera, ballet, comedy clubs, walking through Central Park, window shopping, cooking (I am a great cook - HATE the cleanup), dancing, foreign films, (speak/understand French), bantering with someone intelligent - all of the foregoing and much more, yet there is something to be said about spontaneity - always open to suggestions. Note: do not jog - only running I do is run for the bus - yes, have MetroCard, will travel. I consider myself to be creative, artistic, a perfectionist, striving to do my best at all times and giving it my all (or nothing at all), patient to a point (have no patience for sheer stupidity), extremely intelligent, talented, evanescent, motivated, and quite a comedienne. I don't expend any energy thinking about how other people see me; as a matter of fact, I couldn't give a rat's patootie, as most people misconstrue things quite readily. Judging by the "way of the world", I'm about ready to say "Beam me up, Scotty, there is no intelligible life force here".
Being a first generation American, born of Holocaust survivor parents, (my Mother was rather well known in the Lodz Ghetto and in Auschwitz as The Jewish Nightingale (somehow surviving Auschwitz by escaping - an incredible story- she was an opera singer, the daughter of a Cantor), I consider myself fortunate and fiercely proud to be a Jewess, a member of the chosen people- mindful of the ever present vicious nihilistic spectre of anti-semitism which seems to be once again rearing its disgustingly ugly head. Despite my not being "religious", I do my utmost to attend synagogue on high holidays and uphold certain traditions, i.e., Passover Seders, etc. I consider myself blessed by the gifts, physical, cerebral and spiritual bestowed upon me by our Creator and the Mendellian laws of genetics.
