I'm upbeat, a good listener and enjoy the give and take of witty verbal banter. I'm strong willed and decisive, but am flexible and willing to compromise, as long as my principles aren't. I make an effort not to sweat the small stuff. I believe a good sense of humor is vital, especially during times of adversity, when a positive outlook can pull you through. I enjoy the finer things in life, but have great fun hiking along the Appalachian Trail and canoeing through scenic waterways. I love to travel. I enjoy the theater, long leisurely walks, cooking for that special someone and weekend getaways. I exercise regularly and advocate for healthy life style choices. I own cross-country skis, rollerblades, a bicycle and tennis racquet. I don't excel in any of these sports, but have lots of fun trying. I'm very fortunate to have a wonderful family, two remarkable children, caring friends and career I love - sharing my life with the right woman would be the icing on the cake.

My ideal partner is someone who enjoys reading and thinking critically, and knows the value of opening herself emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually to a life partner. In our relationship, we are both made stronger from the uneven texture of the road of life and yet along with all this comes a keen sense of the importance of play, and of enjoying the relatively short appearance on this earth that is life. We have long conversations, marveling at the wonders of life and its absurdities, trying to right what we can of the wrongs of this world that so much needs our efforts, but also knowing when compassion is the best contribution.
