About Me
I am the best of both worlds: a man who likes to laugh long and play hard but who also enjoys a contemplative meditation or a quiet dinner by the fire. I believe in living lightly, protecting family and friends, helping others in need, appreciating the beauty of our surroundings and being open to new ideas. I’m just as likely to sneak away for a quick trip to Paris as I am to walk out my door for an evening of kayaking. And as for dancing -- I like it all, from waltzes and contra dances to big band swing. Being self-employed with grown children gives me the freedom to go vagabonding in Third World countries and to take the time to explore my spiritual beliefs. I’m looking for a best friend and partner who shares my viewpoint that the purpose of life is to be happy and useful, someone who realizes that there are so many more experiences out there to discover and enjoy.
News Flash: I just returned (November, 2011) from a personal retreat to Guatemala. In the tranquility of their highlands, I realized that there is no value in doing the same thing in work that I've always done. I can to exchange my wonderful life, for my dream. I will retire from appraising after 35 years, relocate somewhere between Eugene, OR, and Bellingham, WA, buy a smaller waterfront house in a place where I can have community, culture, dance, hiking, and kayaking, and then explore what I can do for my next life journey. I see it as another business. I am seriously investigating how I can help seniors, perhaps as a senior coach, or ??
