About Me
Full disclosure: the two photos in my profile are 20+ years old. Besides greying hair, I look the same now. My tastes and interests are unconventional, especially for the Midwest. I travel off the beaten path, whether locally or abroad. I seek nirvana through spicy ethnic cuisine (Korean, Vietnamese, and Afghan, in addition to checked selections), worldbeat rhythms (Celtic, Brazilian, African, island, and American: David Gray, Van Morrison, Ray LaMontagne, Norah Jones), cultural festivals, salsa and slow dancing, gardening, mountains, and being active outdoors year-round. My tastes in art and architecture are contemporary, but I'm not a slave to trendy styles. I'm as happy outside my element as in, and travel to explore the food, music and culture of foreigners more than seeing artifacts in their museums or taking pictures of their landscapes. I volunteer for a few excellent orgs. Being low impact on the environment is a high priority for me. I've never been given a valid reason to grow up, so I haven't. I'm well-rounded enough to fit in and act appropriately anywhere, including the most upscale or serious events. Friends would tell you I'm very eligible (if you're seeking stability, sensibility, sharp wit, and a creative cook), but I'm still single because I'm living in a region with few single men my age, and they're very conventional. I have no interest in golf or spectator sports, which makes me a true anomaly in Indiana. I mesh best with men who have Jewish backgrounds but aren't observant.
