About Me
“Whatever you can do or dream you can…begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”
I’m a psychotherapist who has taught at the university level. Work part time at two homeless shelters with 1-5 years old. They're interested, smart, funny and loving. They don't know they're homeless. They think they are just kids. There is very little really, that I can do for them, but love them. Being with them is immediate, present focused and real, loving them is almost instant, and inevitable.
To me life is church. I relate to strangers in an open, trusting and spontaneous way. When the moon seems special (which is fairly often to me) sometimes I turn down my car window at a light and ask a stranger if he or she has noticed the moon.
My spirituality and life practice is best described by Aung San Suu Kyi, winner of the Nobel Prize for peace in ’91 for leading the people of Burma to revolt against the military government. "Non violence is behaving towards self and others in non humiliating ways.”
Have a dry sense of humor and value laughing very much; crying too. Am warm, loving, loveable, creative, a free spirit, generous, and so on. Also like being intense and serious. Have never been accused of being 'normal'. Have a strong sense of integrity and practice looking deeply into the true nature of things.
I’ve traveled quite a bit; love to hike, walk and exercise. Began as a country girl; upstate New York. While I think I could live almost anywhere, and have very few actual needs, I thrive in nature.
Currently I am doing a particular type of yoga called Bikram Yoga. It is done in 105* for 1 1/2 hours. I do it 5 - 6 times a week. I’m almost always the oldest in the class but participate with no difficulty. Don't mind being different as long as I am true to myself.
“You’ve got to dance like nobody’s watching,
Sing like nobody’s listening,
Love like it’s never going to hurt.
Work like you don’t need the money and
Live like it’s Heaven on Earth"
