I have long had an interest in photography, but I don't consider myself anything more than an amateur. I do have a digital SLR (compatible with my old film SLR bodies), but it doesn't get as much use as I'd like.

I appreciate loyalty and independence, which means I'm glad to give help and almost never ask, even when the smart thing would be to ask for help.

I read science fiction and mysteries for relaxation, biographies and histories for curiosity, "The Economist" for a view of the world. I listen to NPR/WEMU for news (especially local news that the other area NPR stations don't cover as well.)
