About Me
Welcome to my profile.

I sometimes read week-old horoscopes just to see how accurate they are.

Recently I graduated from college with a degree in engineering. One of my greatest ambitions in life is to make the world a better place; how I do that, I haven't fully figured out yet, so stay tuned for the updates.

Sometimes I like to think of myself as a romantic and a philosopher mixed-up with a deadpan sense of humor. I'm an optimist. My friends often mention how I always tend to be smiling.

My Myer Brigg's personality type is that of an artist, an INFJ: someone who is, I'm quoting here, "service-oriented, sensitive and compassionate towards others, who intuitively understands people and situations, and who likes the color turquoise." I added the one about "liking the color turquoise" just for good measure.

One of the things I really enjoy talking with people about is their favorite words. I once heard from a girl how her favorite word is an African one , Mamihlapinatapai, that describes a feeling shared by two people, each wishing that the other will offer something that they both desire but are unwilling to suggest or offer themselves. It's kind of like when two people really, really want to say sorry to each other but neither wants to be the one to say sorry first or how two people at a party may really want to approach each other, but neither of them wants to be the first to make a move.

I'm an engineer, so I spend a lot of my time researching, learning, and explaining how things work. This quest for knowledge often leaves me with a lot of random but interesting trivia. For instance, do you know why pirates used to wear gold earrings? Even today, if you look at some of the most dangerous professions in terms of mortality rates, fishing is close to the top. In the old days, without all the new technology like the GPS, it was even more dangerous. What's the only thing a person can not do for himself? The answer is one will never be able to bury himself. So if the pirate fell overboard and his body brushed up onshore, the person who found him was supposed to use his gold earring as a token to pay for his proper burial...

Umm, that seems like enough information for now to help total strangers get a taste of who I am.

QUOTES OF THE WEEK (or to be honest, till I feel like changing them):

"It's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
-When Harry Met Sally

"You are what you love, not what loves you."
